Instagram Posts for Photographers: March

February 3, 2020

Looking for post ideas? Look no further! In this blog post you’ll find Instagram Post Ideas for Photographers for February (and every other month for that matter)!

When it comes to Instagram for photographers, there are so many puzzle pieces to consider when it comes to using this platform to grow your business. But one of the most important things is showing up regularly to serve your audience and establish connecting points with them that lead to trust and ultimately BUSINESS.

One of my favorite ways to do this is to celebrate with my followers. And not just with regular wins in my business… but with ALL things.

Whether it’s Dog Day, International Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, or the old “talk like a pirate day”… I love leveraging the right obscure holidays in order to raise brand awareness. (Click HERE to learn more about Instagram for Photographers)

Do I celebrate these holidays in real life? Probably not (except Ice Cream for Breakfast Day of Course)! But the truth is, when we ignore all of these holidays, we are missing a valuable opportunity to take advantage of trending topics, fun holiday content, and establishing potential connections with our audience (yes, that’s right… I am suggesting that someone might like you more just because you both like cookies and cream ice cream the best).

So I created this list, just for photographers, so you can put them in your calendar and get to planning!

Instagram Post Ideas for Photographers: March

  • 2nd- National Read Across America Day (#readacrossamerica & #drseuss)! Let your followers know what you’re currently reading, your favorite book of all time, or you/your child’s favorite Dr. Seuss book.
  • 5th- National Pancake Day (#Nationalpancakeday)! Celebrate by having pancakes for breakfast and sharing a pic with your recipe in the caption.
  • First Friday of March- National Employee Appreciation Day (#employeeappreciationday)! Even though your business may not TECHNICALLY have employees, take this opportunity to thank all those people behind the scenes that help your business function as it should. For example, your spouse, your nanny, your second-shooter, your coach, etc.
  • First Friday of March- National Day of Unplugging (#nationaldayofunplugging)! This is something each and every one of us could use.
  • 11th- National Napping Day (#nationalnappingday)! BEST. HOLIDAY. EVER.
  • 14th- Pi Day (#PiDay)! If there’s a part of you that enjoys numbers and the nerdier things in life, there’s no shame in that game! Take this time to reveal that part of your personality to your audience.
  • 19th- National Let’s Laugh Day (#nationalletslaughday)! Laughter is the best medicine. Tell your audience an embarrassing story about yourself. People who know how to laugh at themselves are the best kind of people!
  • 20th- World Storytelling Day (#worldstorytellingday)! I teach my marketing students that storytelling should be in their marketing on a regular basis. But, if you aren’t already doing it, this day is the perfect chance to start!
  • 20th- First Day of Spring (#firstdayofspring)! Post a flashback of one of your favorite spring photos from the year before and wish everyone a happy spring and encourage them to get their session on the calendar now!
  • 23rd- National Puppy Day (#nationalpuppyday)! Fun fact: 99% of my brides own dogs… I often use this day to share that fact with my audience and joke with them about how it’s because my personality is like that of a puppy! Got a cute dog photo… go share it!
  • 31 (Tuesday)- World Backup Day (#worldbackupday)! Yes, that is correct, there is an entire day dedicated to backing up data. Take this opportunity to share with your clients how you keep their photos extra safe OR give them a free guide on how they can backup & store their own photos to ensure they never get lost!
